TurtleBoySports sinks his own ship

Some of you might remember last year when a certain blogger named TurtleBoySports wrote a terrible article for his website bashing St. Bonaventure because UMass lost a basketball game to us. This guy targeted me specifically because I wrote a rebuttal to his nonsense for The Bona Venture, St. Bonaventure’s print newspaper. He wrote a second article specifically about me, and then I wrote a final “screw you” piece back to him, which you can find if you click here.

What happened behind the scenes of our dispute, though, was me probably scaring TurtleBoy quite a bit. Now, he has turned to bashing Buffalo Bills fans (and he has been targeting Buffalo a lot since he learned I was from Buffalo. Sorry, guys). It came out yesterday that TurtleBoy’s real name is Aidan Kearney, and he is a high school teacher at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley, MA, according to buffalobruises.com.

I knew all of that information last semester when he began harassing me on Twitter and writing blog posts about me. (He and his friends—ahem Brian Long—continued to harass me, a 19-year-old college student, on Twitter well into this semester. I have no doubt it would have continued had he not just deleted the account after being found out.)

Here are just a few screen shots of the tweets I’ve received:

I knew who Aidan Kearney was, where he worked and, in fact, I had his address and phone number in front of me—ah, the beauties of the Internet. When I asked him, he, of course, denied it. I never published the name because I wasn’t 100% certain, and unless I can back up my facts, I’m not going to lay them out as facts (That’s called journalism, TurtleBoy).

The TurtleBoySports website was made password-protected, and the Twitter was deleted.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Mr. Kearney’s job. I don’t think he’s really a good example for his students.

In the meantime, LET’S GO BUFFALO!

  1. Those tweets don’t look offensive at all. Looks like playful banter. You guys are kind of pathetic tbh. And the Buffalo Bruises page, that guy is just obsessive and crazy is what I took away from that. Where does he work and do they know he’s a psychopath? Does his wife? It’d be the same thing you guys are doing to this guy, IF you even have the right guy. From my understanding TBS was multiple people, multiple writers. I hope you guys are 100% before posting names and now address like the crazy commenter on the other page.

    1. We are correct. People that attended the Bills game identified him there, as well has both of us tracing the page and coming to the same conclusion (me doing so almost a year ago). Most of the worst tweets he sent, and his friends sent, to me have been long since deleted before I could ever screenshot them. These are just a few of the more recent. Another thing that I didn’t mention in my post is that this man sexually harassed a young woman to tears at the Bills game. She was alone, and he was next to her. He made obscene gestures and continually called her vulgar names. TBS was ONE person. The page had multiple posters from different names, one includonf Brian Long. I didn’t release these names last year because I couldnt’t be certain, but because people identified him at the game, we know it’s him.

  2. Well, came across this because of an article from a local Worcester columnist claiming to have outed the blogger. Having read it, there’s certainly more than one person involved, and a friend of mine had actually mentioned this guy in passing months ago. He gave over the operations of the blog to friends well before the Buffalo issue.

Blog seems more popular than ever, for better or for worse.

  3. And the reason for passing it on was earlier requests from Shepard Hill to distance himself from it.

My guess is while he’s active with it (registered in his name to make cash), he’s not a main writer and is willing to take the abuse so the remaining bloggers can anonymously keep writing.

Seems a bit out there, yeah.
